Films you'd watch over and over as a kid

Ghostbusters

The Empire Strikes Back

Return of the Jedi

Batman (1989)

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Anything else is lost in the mists of time and by the sketchy definition of 'kid'. Star Trek might fall out on that basis.

Return of the Jedi

Zulu

The Wrath of Khan

The Battle of Britain

Transformers the movie (86)

We used to get pirate copies of most of them off some fella who owner the chippy by ours. Don't think I ever ate out of there as he would always have his 2 Alsatians behind the counter.

I never gave him back his copy of Rocky 3 or American Werewolf in London.

My dad had a go at the fella who owned the video shop as he let me rent Lethal Weapon and Raw Deal when i was 13.

Jack the Giant Killer

Various Howard Lloyd and Laurel and Hardy films, although these would often be shorter clips

Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Get Carter (saw it on Granada at my Nan's, then watched it again on HTV at home and the cunts censored it)

Wizard of Oz

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Lez Piss

Various Superman and Star Trek films

Trading Places and Beverley Hills Cop (both butchered by censors so they could be shown in a pre-watershed slot)

Equus

Walkabout

Live and Let Die and Goldfinger (vaguely remember these being on TV quite a bit)

Quality idea for a thread this!

Mine were:

Rocky 1 and 2

Star Wars - all of them, but mainly A New Hope

Big

Blues Brothers

Karate Kid

Some old Spider-Man film - proper made for tv job

Top Gun

Weird Science

Thats about it I reckon - honourable mention for Temple of Doom too actually - that got some repeat viewings. My dad was good with recording stuff actually. I’d forgotten that about being a little lad - always new VHS done for us if they’d watched something without us

Edit - just read the other responses and left out 2 of my main ones!

Superman

The Goonies
