Possibly because he’s from an era when televised live footy was far less ubiquitous than it is now and so he was watched over 90 minutes more in Liverpool than anywhere else.

Southall was definitely top 10 greatest imo, but I reckon Jennings edges him and should have made it into the final batch. No problem with Zoff and Buffon at all. 

I'd say Jennings and Southall were pretty close in their prime. I'd probably have Jennings edging it for pure consistency for such a long spell at both Spurs and Arsenal. Big Nev wasn't at the top as long but was still a superb GK and a great human being. As Jennings may be also?

Rinat Dasayev, Jean-Marie Pfaff, Luis Arconada, Oliver Kahn, Iker Casillas, Petr Cech, Lev Yashin, Manuel Neuer, Hans Van Breukelen, the Dutch cunt etc are obviously better than Southall
 

Id rate Southall in the Angelo Peruzzi, Walter Zenga, Andoni Zubizaretta, Edvin Van der Sar category myself, great goakeepers, but not the best in the World even in their prime.

You are obviously not old enough to see an average Welsh team sneak or almost sneak wins against some of the world's best only because of Southall.
