I reckon it must be solid judging by the amount of people who're shite at it. For every Baker Street bloke there's a million Ed the Ducks. The only plus point is it'd seriously piss your neighbours off. Maybe get a triangle instead. Or a glockenspiel.

There's not much else you can do with a saxophone really though is there? It's not like a guitar where you can sit there gently strumming with a beer, you've either got to belt out some loud, long solo or do something else. You probably can't play frere jacques on one.

Agreed but the break in Baker Street isn't exactly the Zenith of saxophone playing, it's a cheesy break that most intermediate players could manage in their sleep.
