I know the game got a mention in the Skyrim thread but I thought it deserved it's own thread. Here's the final trailer for the game. I know this isn't in game footage and it's easy to be fooled but if I am honest I am finding it hard not to get a little excited. Thought the Witcher 2 had it moments but it was with out doubt a flawed game. If the prerelease reviews are anything to go by this won't be case for this new game. Now I just have to make sure I remember how to embed properly.

Need to finish Dragon Age, then by the time that's done, Elder Scrolls will be out so that's another 6 months of my gaming life gone before I get round to playing this.

Is that an online thing like world of Warcraft. Can't be doing with that. Single player for me or nothing. I'll play a game to escape the reality of other people.

I'll wait for Witcher to drop a bit as I've still got Dragon Age to finish too.

 

I'll try a bit of Elder Scrolls Online, largely because I've not really given that type of game a shot since Phantasy Star Online.

 

Still prefer single player though.

Playing it on hard because I was told it's a better way to get a handle on the fighting dynamics. I like it so far, the world is genuinely dangerous while you're low level. We'll see if I last with it this hard.

 

Overall it's very good, I had to turn down the camera sensitivity and was getting a few frame rate issues at first but once the game opens up a bit it's a much smoother experience. The conversations move at quite a slow tempo, however, still trying to get used to that. The guy's voice annoyed me at first, but I'm getting used to that - there are bits that make you think, "yeah... Made in Poland..."

 

But I already want to check out the books so they've definitely built an engaging world.

From what I know it's single player with a facility to party up like you can with WoW, but I prefer to play these kind of games on my own.

Only thing annoying me with the game is the incessant need to subtitle grunts and even spitting.

 

I don't want lines of dialogue that slow the game down consisting mainly of "mmm", "Mmhmm", "ummm", "hrrk-Ptoo", "Urgh".

 

Other than that it's ace.

Git about 40 hours in loving every minute but nagging feeling I'd gone too far into the main quest so just deleted everything and starting again.

 

Best game on the PS4 so far (which is slim pickings granted).

It's my eldest sons birthday later this month and I've bought him an Xbox one with the Halo packet. He's been going on about this game as well and I'm thinking of getting it for him. I know the USK is 18 but is it Ok for a 15 year old?

Depends how liberal you are and how mature you think your lad is. It has swearing, sexual content and some grisly moments but I wouldn't say it was a hard 18.
