Enjoyable half. Looked a bit shaky until Reina's superb save but settled after that abd controlled the game. Coates has been great and Robinson nice and tidy. Our midfield three have ran the game, Shelvey is going to be a top player.

Assaidi needs to take his men on in the box, at the moment they're happy to double up on him outside the box and force him back. But he's got tricks and pace, if he gets the tight pass then he could be a nightmare inside the box, they wouldn't touch him.

 

Udinese are funnelling everything central, there's no room for Shelvey to get a shot in because there's always four or five players there.

 

However, we already know how to score against these, good deliveries and late runs into the box, a la Shelveys goal.

We did it once and scored, but we've not even tried it since. Silly lads.

 

Great display though, this is a useful Serie A side and we are missing 6 or 7 first team starters.

It's good to see how it makes the game look so easy and what we have been lacking for as long as I can remember. The players we have on that pitch are no better and in some cases a lot worse than what we have had over the years (some wouldnt have got into any of our teams in the past), but they fucking move into space. It makes us look like a football team who plays football AT LAST!!

Pretty decent stuff from Liverpool. Shelvey class yet again, and the whole side playing nice football. Downing playing well too. Only downsides are Assaidi looking a bit ordinary and lacking pace. Borini with some good movement, reminds me of a quicker Kuyt, minus the goal threat
