Can’t see Wood being fit for the next game.

One of the most ridiculous things that has crept into the game is the feeling that you have to throw yourself after the ball  on the boundary like a lunatic with very lttle chance of saving runs just so basically nobody can say you aren't trying hard enough.

I’m going to day two of the Headingley Test. All being well it will rain all day.

The beauty of test cricket is that there’s always another day. I was at Headingley on my birthday in 2019 when the Aussies bowled us out for 67. Game over, or so it seemed.

Was also there two days later when Stokesy did his thing.

The fucking best.

One thing we shouldn’t lose in all of this btw is how good a team India are.

Was about to say that.

Along with NZ, the two most competitive Test teams in world cricket by a country mile.

India the more so in my book, because they are so competitive away from home.

Winning this Test from probably a losing position, and achieving that turnaround on the same day - they did that in consecutive Tests in Australia to win the Series last summer, and that after a disastrous first test in Adelaide, when they were bowled out in an hour.

This is much more an India masterclass in never-say-die than a witch-hunt for English ineptitude I think... although England do have mental issues going by today... starting with Root as captain, alas.

India though?  Mentality monsters.

If they want an example of how badly it can go wrong they need to watch the clip of Simon Jones against Australia

You'd never see Big Bad Bob Willis throwing himself all over the shop trying to save a run. Infarct if  you ever watch clips of Bob if a batsman straight batted a ball back to his feet he'd look at it turn round and walk back to his mark waiting for the ball to be passed back to him

Anybody know where you get those sky commentary earpieces you can use at the ground? Do you buy them there?

I’d quite like one so I can tune out my mate jibber jabbering about nonsense once he’s had half a shandy.

I'd imagine they'd sell them outside the ground perhaps.... they do a similar thing here at the MCG.
