H&G: Want bid from Mill Financial - people who own Gillett's shares. All starting to unravel. #HicksandGilletteOut

Yep

They should have negotiated with the board not with people ie Hick who werent authorised to deal with sale process.

Its too late a legally binding contract has been signed

Hope RBS lawyers make this very important point

Shit I should have been a barrister

My biggest fear is confirmed - H&G coming to the court with an offer of their own. Mill fucking financial.

This is going to take an ugly turn now as it looks like we didn't even meet them.

That isn't the issue though!

The issue is whether Broughton was right in acting the way that he did, it seems that he was.

Yes. For today, that might be the issue.

There is also another issue whether the offer was "reasonable". Broughton won't be able to prove its reasonable when he didn't even meet a rival bidder in Mills Financial.

That is what they are arguing about anyway.

Sorry for my ignorance, but when is this going to be resolved - when will we know if we're sold?

They just had a lawyer of SSN saying that he thinks the club will win their case later in the week and we will be sold by this end of the week. I was under the impression that if RBS win today we are sold, is this the case?

If RBS win today then there still has to be a court case V Hicks but in reality the court case would be a forgone conclusion

Mill Financial were meant to meet Broughton last Thursday to discuss a possible takeover but it was cancelled.

Surely they would have had to submitted something on paper before anyone from LFC met them. If it wasnt good enough on paper or NESV had something way better, that could be justification enough for meeting them. I could bid 50p and a Mars bar for the club - dont reckon they'd meet me....

No that is the issue full stop. Broughton has sold the club, after adhering to the terms of the refinancing package, Hicks and Gillet have blocked that sale stating that he had no right, and this is why we are in court.

If they lose, the sale goes ahead. And that is the end.

Oooof...it's getting tasty!

12.56pm: Back to court, H&G's representatives: "Claims there was no meeting of the Kop Holdings board to discuss NESV deal and this should have happened. 'This was a matter for the Kop Holdings board and the entire board.' (ie it should have included Hicks and Gillett) Claims that this in itself is a breach of the sales agreement "

They have played the court case, like the have the ownership of Liverpool FC, a right pair of cockroaches.

Wriggling and writhing but putting up a fight, to the bitter end.

To be fair their barrister has done a great job with cards he's been dealt

No point trying to defend the indefenisble but point out that they are the shareholders and owners of the club and the decision to sell has adversely affected them.

They came in too late in the day this Mills fucken shit, due diligence and proving were funds etc were coming from.

More Hicks bullshit and too fucken late, the process was going on for months and only two serious bidders who fitted the criteria, both were pretty close but one had expertise in the sports industry, they won fair and square.

Fuck off Hicks and you Manc supporting cunt. Fuck this my nerves are shot to bits. Feel like going on the gargle, not good.

12.59pm: H&G's representative in court: "Claims Meriton wrote letter to Hicks and Gillett on Friday evening asking 'what was going on' regarding their takeover bid."

12.57pm: From court: "Owners have no idea what happened after 4.30pm on 5 October, according to their rep, and were not kept informed by the board thereafter."

Broughton said he invited both of them to the board meeting but they both declined
