Sky sports 1 and 2 on Freeview

it would be ideal for me, in would only ever get sky just for the sports channels so getting sky sports on freeview would be perfect. I've noticed that my channel 41 and 42 on freeview have now been renamed BT1 and BT2

 

this is the first I've heard of this. Doesn't seem to be many other articles online. Anyone know when this is likely to launch or any prices?

Yes, BT will be offering their customers SS1 SS2 for £6.99 each.

It won't be free. It'll just be like the old top up tv where you have a freeview box with a card slot so you can have a few pay tv channels without getting a full package.

 

BT vision are offering skysports 1 or 2 for 6.99 a month or both for 11.99 a month. The freeview prices will be about the same.

the 6.99 is if you have a 24 month contract or some bullshit as well as ADSL, BT vision etc

 

i.e they'll give a discount if you tie yourself to them for years, otherwise it's probably very similar to sky prices

Will they be in HD? Sly charge an extra tenner a month for HD and there are now 4 SkySports HD chans.

SkySports won't be in HD on BT or Freeview anytime soon. Good few years away.

I think Sky will fuck off the HD charge off soon, like they did with the Sky+ charge they used to have.
