Someone who hasn't seen Star Wars

We were on our tea break and one of the lads got a text message and his signal was yoda. A girl said "who was that?" and everyone said "yoda". She just sat their looking like a big question mark. She had managed to live her 25 years on the planet and not only not seen any of the films, but had not even gleaned the most basic information regarding any of them.

I found that astonishing. She is not some bizarre freako who has lived in a tree for all her life either, she is otherwise a perfectly normal person.

madness.

Pics of her naked with a sign saying "WTF is Star Wars?" or it didn't happen.

Seriously though, it still shocks me the number of people I have met who have no idea about anything to do with Star Wars, couldn't even come up with Darth Vader if pressed. Its ridiculous.

You would SERIOUSLY want photos of her. She is lovely.

You'll be uninvited to my birthday party, bucko. We were going to have pass the parcel and musical chairs. Your choice. I think you know what to do.

In fit women and Yoda related news...

Former Hooters waitress settles toy Yoda suit

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) — A former waitress has settled her lawsuit against Hooters, the restaurant that gave her a toy Yoda doll instead of the Toyota she thought she had won.

Jodee Berry, 27, won a beer sales contest last May at the Panama City Beach Hooters. She believed she had won a new Toyota and happily was escorted to the restaurant's parking lot in a blindfold.

But when the blindfold was removed, she found she had won a new toy Yoda — the little green character from the Star Wars movies.

David Noll, her attorney, said Wednesday that he could not disclose the settlement's details, although he said Berry can now go to a local car dealership and "pick out whatever type of Toyota she wants."

After the stunt, Berry quit the restaurant and filed a lawsuit against Gulf Coast Wings, the restaurant's corporate owner, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation.

The restaurant's manager, Jared Blair, has said the whole contest was an April Fools' joke.

I introduced my kids to star-wars. To the eldest girl, I said "It is about some brave men going to rescue a princess". This definitley stirred her interest.

We started watching "A New Hope". Almost immediately Darth Vader was being 'nasty' to Princess Leia. My daughter said "He isn't being very nice. Where is her daddy?".

I thought for a couple of seconds and then said "I think High School Musical is on the other side. Let's switch over."

Anyway we did persevere with Star-Wars and they loved it.

My girlfriend hadn't seen the original Star Wars or Indiana Jones films. I schooled her good, however. Now, she's sat through the original trilogy twice, and I think she might get a third viewing soon.

I'll have her quoting it in no time.

Speaking of good sci-fi, I'll have to get her to watch Logan's Run and DUNE soon.
