Industrial/darker music thread

I'm the first to admit I know hardly anything about industrial, but the radio station I've started listening to has a lot of it and I really like it, so anyone else into the same music, maybe post your fave tunes up here.

I made this because metal/punk threads don't really cover this stuff, industrial is a really strange genre that's to it's own in a way. Hopefully there's more of you around than just me anyway. I'll start off (oh and I said darker music aswell as industrial, so whatever you think fits.) :

Ministry are known to be one of the biggest bands around doing this stuff and one that a game coder who's game I was playing a bit back introduced me to (and he introduced me to slayer aswell, so eternal respect for just that.) :

Used to like Ministry back in the day. Psalm 69 is a cracker. I bought the first NIN album expecting something similar but it just sounded like Depeche Mode. Their subsequent, heavier stuff didn't do a lot for me.

This band aren't what I'd usually think of as industrial, and they're described as electronic rock aswell. Good tune though, even if they don't have that.....something that makes the usually industrial tune. Maybe they're a sign of dance music moving into industrial more than it did at the start though, and they do have their own thing here. It's not just an average rock tune with effects added in, it has something else, but I can't nail down what it actually is.

 

Maybe it's more of an effects orientated industrial tune than it is that beat that these songs usually have.

Yeah I think they've replaced that darker, heavier industrial tone with a more hypnotic dance one, maybe a sign of things to come in the genre from some bands. As long as it isn't just effects for the sake of it and a watering down of what industrial is, it could really add something if done by the right bands.

 

(for instance, Primal Scream might've been able to add a lot to this type of music, and if the same type of band comes along in the future that's into this style, they could develop it quite a lot.)
