What is the most famous goal in our history?

Gerrard vs Olympiakos has to be up there with the Fairclough goal.

You could even argue that his headed goal in Istanbul was just as, if not more important than his Olympiakos effort.

Gary Mac's free kick to beat the Bitters, or his free kick that won the UEFA cup against Alaves to tie up the treble?

There are so many. St. John at Wembley '65, that iconic glancing header for our first FA cup.

Kenny Dalgleish against Bruges?

It's hard to pick just one.

In order, I would say:

St John v Leeds

Smith v Moenchengladbach

Dalglish v Bruges

Kennedy v Real Madrid

Garcia v Chelsea

for non-final games:

Dalglish v Chelsea

Barnes v QPR

McDermott v Spurs (Anfield not FA Cup although you all remember that one too)

Collymore v Nerwcastle

McAllister v Everton

Here's a fruity little suggestion: Micheal Thomas against us in 89.

I reckon that is probably the most famous goal in our history. Some of the ones we've scored ourselves would run it pretty close but I reckon that is probably the most famous.

You beat me to it! We all (unfortunately) remember it and all the fans of other teams aren't likely to forget it!

But as for ours...

Rushie's second in 1986, winning the double at that time after Heysel meant so much.

So many....

All the ones mentioned above plus...

Two that haven't been mentioned are Alan Kennedy against Real Madrid, and Stevie G in the Cup Final.

One of the best I've ever seen was Robbie's league cup final goal against Birmingham.

Mellor against Arsenal. Luis Garcia ruining Maureen's life. Keegan against Leicester in the 74 Cup semifinal. Torres against Arsenal in the CL QF at Anfield.

Kenny. All of them.
