I've just read about the whole thing now, and Im sticking witht this story. It's just too clichè, pennant bellamy and fowler, I mean come on, it's too obvious.

That's a denial from the restaurant not the hotel.. I'm not arsed about a bit of a skirmish or them getting loud, I am arsed about people brandishing offensive weapons, which is alleged to have occurred at the hotel. The emphasis on alleged.

Look fellas, we can hope all we like that it's not true....

But this is a very specific allegation that Bellamy attacked Riise, trying to swing a golf club at his legs.

Now if that's a total fabrication I cannot begin to imagine how big the damages will be for the defamatory comments against Bellamy; and I know that, if I were he I would sue tomorrow for it.

Which tends to indicate to me that it's true. NOTW is also saying that both players have been flown home - so if they're not in the squad, Riise becuase of the bruising to his legs, Bellamy becuase of the behaviour, then that will tell its own tale.

I hear what you're saying, but if Bellamy successfully sued, how big would the damages paid out really be? Would they be less than the extra sales gained by the NOTW today from printing it on the front page, combined no doubt with the extra sales the S*n might get during the week if it keeps attention on the story? News International might decide it's worth the risk.
