Just listened to this with my lunch (cheese sarnie and a yoghurt in case anyone is interested) and to reiterate a point I made after the Arsenal pod back in February, I appreciate the podcast more after a defeat than a win, and I feel pretty certain I'm not the only one. As a Red, you've got so many bad thoughts/emotions swirling through your body and you want to know if others feel the same and how they're coping/rationalising the pain - in part you get that through talking with you mates and in part you get that from listening to three fellas you don't know try and make sense of it all between themselves, and that always helps - so please Dave and the lads, always do post-defeat pods even if, quite understandably, you're not in the mood to do so. Also, please always litter than with fuming rants about Pep Guardiola - well in Paul!

Good post in full (doffs cap to Xerxes), and I entirely agree. In fact, I only listen if we haven't won. The suck off stuff is considerably less interesting. Understandably so, as there is less to say.

I was right that Paul would set the right tone. Straight off the bat he nails it and at the same time explains perfectly that other reds are entitled to feel any emotion they want. That's not me being smug btw, great stuff again lads, loved the Little gag at the end although in an hour the truth behind that joke will start annoying me.

Great podcast.

I listened to it in two halves on different days, and the arc pretty much matched my own processing.

That said, I thought I was low when I started it, but bloody hell, I wanted to take Paul out for a pint and a packet of crisps during that first 20 minutes!

The anger and the acceptance were also in there, so in reply to the question, do people really want to listen to these unpacking-of-the-misery podcasts, honestly, yes we do.  Personally, I find it cathartic, mate.

As a final point, I was also duped by the romance of Barcelona: in a world of cynicism and commercialism, in 2008-12 or something like that, they seemed to be a glimmer of hope.

I now hate Barca more than I hate Madrid, and that is saying something.  It stems from the duplicitous outward-facing masquerade.  "More than a club" - yeah, alright.

Més que un club = masquerade.

Great podcast.

One of things Paul kept saying at the beginning of the season was we where failing the eye test.  I don't think its reactionary to say that Salah for me every time I've seen him recently feels like he's failed the eye test.

I'm not quite saying we should sell him, but equally the way we're setup with him it's like we're playing with 10 men and I felt v Palace this was even more the case.

Whilst we're mathematically in this, we've as was said on the pod, seen this movie before.

I don't fancy going all in on this again, I don't have the emotional strength to put myself through yet another Wolves at home.

Whatever will be will be, there is light at the end of the tunnel put part of me hopes it's just the train so I can get on with my life

Agreed. This has been the season of the eye test.

And again, I really liked that podcast. I’m one of those that gets more from the pod after a poor defeat then I do an easy win. And I particularly like that you don’t try and dissect everything when it’s just an awful performance all round, but instead just go high level and look at the bigger picture. Having said that, a swift return to the happy winning podcasts wouldn’t go amiss.

Johnny's come a long way from his little seat at the front of a bus driving through Dublin.

Flash twat.

He may have come a long way, but the team has gone downhill. Get back on the bus Blakey.

Posting pics of himself with what looks like Pints of gravy in New York bars as well. Big Sam wannabe

Did anyone else rewind to listen to Paul's epic rant about Guardiola? I did. Twice. Magnificent rantage and exactly how we all feel. It proper made me smile though.

Must be tough to get yourself up for making a pod after a result like that but as a red living in Yorkshire it's very cathartic for me, as I'm sure it is plenty of others.

Always good to hear John G after a shit loss too. Nobody does sheer despondency like John can.

Thanks lads. Always appreciated from all of you who participate.

Oh, and Paul is ahead of Chris 1-0 in Damp Squid Game
