Love Island 2023 starts on Monday.

 

I know most of the alpha males on here will be watching it, and will need a thread to dissect some of the complicated intellectual discussions that take place.

 

Feel free to peddle the excuse of "I only watch it 'cos my missus does." 

 

Personally, I watch it as an anthropological study - a microcosm of the challenges we face in our own relationships. I hardly notice the bikinis with high heels.

Saw an article in the Guardian, yesterday, which I almost posted in the serious thing you shouldn’t laugh at thread.

 

One of the former contestants was talking about the depression she’d suffered as a result of being in the house and said that people on social media had called her ugly, saying she looked like Jonjo Shelvey.

 

There was an accompanying photo and she fucking looks like Jonjo Shelvey.

A couple of the former contestants have topped themselves. Says a lot about our society.

 

The double standards baffles me, you can't turn the weather or eastenders on these days without seeing someone with no arms or a melted face or someshit, yet you've got people cooing over this mob.
