Songs of Praise theme was the sound of the weekend being over. Last of the Summer Wine/Antiques Roadshow was the sound of panic of homework not being completed. Great days.

You had about an hour before the shite was over and you were sent to bed to stare at the ceiling in bleak despondency knowing that tomorrow was waking up early to go to a place you hated.

We had Tinker and Tucker with Willy Wombat,  Skippy and I think The Golden Shot in the late 60's and Black Beauty, Heidi, Tom Brown's Schooldays and Anne of Green fucking Gables in the early 70's.

Nah, opening presents on Christmas Day and the FA Cup Final (even if we weren’t playing) were the best. School was shite, so I hated every minute of it.
