"Liverpool believe the Red Sox have specialists who could help put an end to his persistent injury problems"

So a baseball team thousands of miles away are better equipped than we are to help him......

Is there anybody at our club who actually knows what they are doing?

Nope. Their specialists may be able to help solve the problems specialist here havent been or dont seem able to resolve.

Why do you have such a problem who resolves his injuries? Does it matter if he gets treatment here, the US or Timbuktu?

I just think or would hope that we might have medical staff with a deep enough knowledge and enough ability to help treat/prevent a footballers injuries at you know a football club......

It's no real biggie either way to me, just seems a bit strange that we think the medical staff at that baseball team can do a better job than we can.

I would guess this is something that has been put in place after intervention by the owners out of frustration with how long Sturridge has been out.

So you think the club should have worldbeating medical staff for all eventualities based at Melwood?

Why do clubs send players to the US? Why do they send them to this Dr Steadman for cruciate knee injuries? There are world renown specialists in all fields and they dont all live in the UK.

I think its a little disingenuous to expect the club to have all this expertise at Melwood. But then again, it just seems to be the trend to blame the club for everything and anything these days.

I would expect them to have staff who are more than capable of dealing with muscle strains and tears, yes. They are very common injuries in the game.

Sorry that's a gross oversimplification.

I can see why many of your other arguments fall down.

Obviously LFC do have staff more than capable of dealing with muscle strains and tears. But he's been having these since he was at city and chelsea no? So, they are a pre existing condition not easily resolved.

While Im not really arsed about the efficacy of city's and chelsea's medical staff, it appears 'dealing with muscle strains' etc was beyond them as well.

Makes you kind of wonder why they didnt resolve the issues doesnt it?

Seems strange having a baseball team working on a football "speed" injury, as there isn't a whole lot of running in baseball.  I've been living here in the US for about 10 years now and have only seen baseball players scratch their arses and spit out tobacco.

Many of my arguments fall down? Thanks for pointing this out to me, i'll be sure to post only stuff you agree with in the future.

You are dead right on this subject like everything else you discuss.

Ta for straightening me out.

I think its utterly bizarre. When i saw Barratts tweet this afternoon, thought why would he be better off in America to treat a muscle injury when the club have been dealing with things like that for years.

Infact im sure most injuries are treated inhouse apart from Torn cruciates and the like.

I thought he was supposed to be nearly fit anyway. wasnt he training on a beach in LA or whatever the other week.

Players have come back from broken legs quicker than this.
