She's purposely put on weight for the role and made up to look dowdy. She isn't too bad at all for a 50 year old.

I didn't enjoy that episode, but I'm not a massive fan of back stories, especially when they seem like nothing more than episode fillers, which is what I thought of this one.

Agree. Its as if they suddenly decided that they needed to explain the past in just one episode because the viewers aren't intelligent enough to use their own imagination.

I thought it was maybe even more basic than that... Shit, we've reached this point after 5 episodes, how the fuck do we stretch it all the way. If they really needed to do it, I think the back story may have worked better had they dripped it through the opening episodes.
