Full time - Chelsea 2 Liverpool 3

Had to withstand some pressure at the end of the game there, but credit to the lads, they worked their socks off and put their heads in where it hurts to secure the 3 points.

Tyler Morton with the pick of the goals. Ben Woodburn with a real captain's performance. My man of the match though was Conor Bradley. Fantastic energy up and down the right hand side.

EDIT: Must also give Morgan Boyes a shout too. Had a good game in the middle of defence alongside Billy.

What are the chances of Ben Woodburn getting back into the first team mix?

Any chance of Layton Stewart being with the first team at some point.

I'd suggest slim for both this season.

I like Ben, always have, and it would please me no end if he were to make it here with us, but sadly I don't think it's going to happen. In all likelihood, Woodburn will probably have to move on in the Summer. For the good of his own career.

Would be a shame given the potential he showed at the very start of his young career. Injuries and unproductive loan spells have not helped the lad, but I also think that he hasn't really made a position his own, so he gets shifted around due to his versatility and ability to play anywhere across the front or in the middle of the park.

As for Layton, I think he could be around the first team squad for the League Cup next season. He needs a good run of games, and goals, at the 23s level. I mentioned in another thread, I get Torres vibes from Layton and do believe there's a lot of potential there. So long as he can avoid injuries and gets that good run of games/goals in the 23s, then he'll certainly not do his chances any harm next season.
