I remember Sir Bob saying it doesnt matter how much they cost once they are a LFC player your reputation counts for nothing its about the best 11 on the pitch (or words to that effect) Just Glad Kenny feels the same way, the Old TLW if you like We now have a real squad of 11 who played today plus 75m squid and Gerrard. its great that Kenny picked a free player over a 35m one because its the best for the team. Long may it continue, hopefully the other players respond the way they did in Sir Bobs days and improve and give the manager a real selection problem

Managers on the make ... as described by agents Manager 1 Ex-Premier League manager allegedly liked “bungs” in cash or deposited in a Swiss bank account. Pagliara said: “I can call [X] now and all it is with [X] is 'How much, Pino? And will it be the same Swiss bank account?’” Manager 2 Ex-top flight manager has had “more backhanders than Wimbledon”. Pagliara said: “This is what I hate... the guy that used to need the money but he’s had so much now that all of a sudden he’s whiter than white.” Manager 3 After managing several British clubs, he was allegedly fired by one for having “his fingers in the till”. Pagliara said he would get involved if “you understand tha…

Don't know how significant this will prove to be. I heard this being mentioned on Talk Sport tonight, but as of yet none of the tabloids have mentioned it. Pay particular attention to the bit in bold. MPs to probe racism in sport Published on Tuesday 10 January 2012 18:55 Racism in sport will be investigated by an influential parliamentary committee, after a series of incidents including two involving Liverpool FC, it has been announced. The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee confirmed it would look into the issue later this year after a series of high profile race rows have plagued football in recent weeks. England captain John Terry ha…

In one corner you have Roy Hodgson with unlikely backers in Carra and Stevie and on the other hand you have the majority of the squad rightly against the manager including Torres, Johnson and the only true LFC legend left at the club Pepe Reina. I say this as when CB states in his article that the squad is fully behind the manager that can only come from his sources which are basically Carra, Gerrard and maybe the replaced Purslow. These two players should be thinking about the whole team not there own careers. I believe we need a desperately strong manager to come in and sort it out acutally probably someone in the mould of Houllier or Rafa who were both very str…

After watching the CL semifinals this week, I've been thinking about what makes clubs succesful. Obviously money is a - and probably THE key factor. However I also think there is something with regards to the way a club perceives itself, is set up and acts that goes a long way in determining it. A club like Bayern is made up of bona fide winners from the board room to the pitch. They have ensured that at every level they have the best people and they simply do not accept second best. The Spanish rivals Barca and Real share a self-image in which they each feel themselves entitled to not only being the best team on the planet, but also playing fantastic footbal…

I went to a game the other week, in a different part of the ground... Now, although obvious, it struck me quite dramatically how a perspective on the game can change. Quite often you'll hear comments from fans "I don't know which game you were watching but...", but this particular match, give a dramatically different viewing angle that completely changed my perspective on aspects of game play. I normally sit at the sides, about 1/3 of the pitch in, and this causes me to notice when the ball isn't coming out wide enough (to the winger stood in front of me), But sitting elsewhere in the ground I could see how getting the ball out wide wasn't as easy as it looked…

I need a spare for the league cup game vs Derby on the 8th. My man is a Derby fan and their 5k allocation sold out on the day. Should alcohol need to be furnished, we are more than happy to oblige. Cheers.

No Carragher. No Gerrard. That's the way for the next few weeks. So, how do we approach this? Who do we make captain? Who do we look to for advice, organisation and inspiration? I'd give the armband to Reina myself.

Liverpool Football Club's principal owner John W Henry has written the following open letter to supporters: john henry I am as disappointed as anyone connected with Liverpool Football Club that we were unable to add further to our strike force in this summer transfer window, but that was not through any lack of desire or effort on the part of all of those involved. They pushed hard in the final days of the transfer window on a number of forward targets and it is unfortunate that on this occasion we were unable to conclude acceptable deals to bring those targets in. But a summer window which brought in three young, but significantly talented starters in Joe Allen,…

Sorry for starting a new thread, I'm on my phone so can't search for any other there might be. Basically I'm about to buy the new home kit for somebody and I remember reading on here (I think) that its a bit tighter. Has anybody bought one and if so is it really that much tighter? The person I'm buying it for would normally be a small. Thanks in advance

I know there's obviously a few other ownership threads. But not the transfer deadline is over, we're only a month away from the October 6th deadline. Possibly the biggest date in Liverpools history (and more imprtantly, future). So what do you think will actually happen...? I may have missed some possibilities..

The Martinez March - not the most cost effective pound to person ratio that's ever been spent in marketing.... Wow, that's... ...er... ...a turnout all right! Not so much a march as a small delegation.... And with no sense of irony given they're welcoming a Spanish manager....

Should we have a members ticket thread or whatever . I am sometimes looking to sell my tickets or often need tickets but obviously want to deal with nice people . Is it worthwhile having a thread that is purely dedicated to tickets for matches ? It may also make people become members as well and line the pockets of our president .

New draft. Only players who have played in the EPL in the Premier League era. Must have at least 1 league appearance. The catch: You are not allowed to use the first or last letter of the surname more than once. i.e; Bergkamp You will now not be allowed to pick a player whose surname starts or ends with a B or a P. Players with the same letter at each end are not allowed i.e; Asprilla This one will require a bit of thought. The last one ended as a bit of a damp squib but don't let that put you off. 2pm Saturday is the deadline so if we have 8 or more I will start.

Hey all, as some of you know I produce videos in my spare time for the love of it. Over the past 4 months a hell of a lot of work by many people (and a bit of my own cash) has been put into a video, which at the last hour wasn't wanted by the band as they were suddenly offered big budget. We'd just like to show it and get some hits now so if at all possible would you mind plugging it on your social networks. No need for an explanation, just "one of my mates videos, have a look" Etc. "Pass it around" etc. For the record, I provided special hand double roles for the typewriter and drinks cabinet shots (my grandads drinks cabinet). rnmGGbcqd8o[/YouTube] …

Lets face it without Broughton the best situation we would be in now is Administration and it could have been a lot worse. So What substantsial lasting tribute do you think we could leave Broughton as he will soon sadly be leaving the club. My suggestion is for us to stop singing Chelsea No History song. Ive personally always hated the song from day one just thought it was classless coming from Liverpool fans and looking backwards and not forwards More importantly we might have history but not a very good future if it hadnt been for Broughton. Personally I think the best way we could show our respect for Broughton would be to stop singing this song. it…

Please get behind this, folks. Thatcher state funeral to be privatised - e-petitions Thatcher state funeral to be privatised Responsible department: Cabinet Office In keeping with the great lady's legacy, Margaret Thatcher's state funeral should be funded and managed by the private sector to offer the best value and choice for end users and other stakeholders. The undersigned believe that the legacy of the former PM deserves nothing less and that offering this unique opportunity is an ideal way to cut government expense and further prove the merits of liberalised economics Baroness Thatcher spearheaded. Now that the dust has settled after another abysmal performance would anyone like to tell me when we have played 4 such appaling league games on the trot because I certainly cant remember. Never under Rafa, possilby under Houllier but we won them which makes you forget but i dont even think under Souness I can remember us playing 4 such terrible games on the trot. Also how do you see this actually getting any better because I cant. I think there are already serious signs in players attitudes like Torres today that all is not well. So without descendng into carnage lets actually debate this sensibly

Due to the doom and gloom that engulf us the club the players and the management. i thought i'd give us all a reminder of happier times with a few quotes from Sir Bob of Paisley. "I said that when I took over that I would settle for a drop of Bell's once a month, a big bottle at the end of the season and a ride round the city in an open top bus!" * Bob Paisley in 1950 "Believe it or not the most thrilling experience of my life has nothing to do with football! It was the unforgettable sight of Vesuvius in eruption while stationed near Naples during the war. The most pleasurable experience is football one, and came when I won an Amateur Cup Final with Bis…
