  2. This is the Celtic fan convicted of racially abusing him. Good old Celtic fans, eh. Can’t do anything wrong. The thing that always gets omitted from any mention of the Diouf spitting incident is one of the Celtic fans slapping him on the back of the head, which is why he turned round and spat. He’s a dickhead. He shouldn’t have done it. And he comes across as a gobshite. But fuck the one-sidedness of the references to the incident. Celtic fans aren’t sweet-smelling, fluffy little bunnies. A large number of them are partisan, sectarian asshats who are as every bit as responsible as Ranger’s fans when it comes to the bollocks that goes on up there.

  8. No, they’re not beholden to it. They would have been had they won power and were in government. They didn’t win, so a new manifesto will be drawn up for the next election. Nobody is beholden to their last manifesto for a different election. To claim Labour are beholden to it despite not getting into government but LD weren’t beholden to theirs despite being in government is, quite frankly, ludicrous. As for hard Brexit, that’s a negative too. You can’t claim they are committed to a hard Brexit, like the Tories, and that they are committed to leaving the single market and the customs union when the manifesto actually says ‘We will scrap the Conservatives’ Brexit White Paper and replace it with fresh negotiating priorities that have a strong emphasis on retaining the benefits of the Single Market and the Customs Union – which are essential for maintaining industries, jobs and businesses in Britain. Labour will always put jobs and the economy first’. Your attempt to paint them as the same as Tories is quite bizarre. You might want to dismiss everything that has been said since then, by both Corbyn and Starmer, but it doesn’t actually have a place in reality.m. I know you’re Mr. Lib Dem around these parts, but a little bit of balance wouldn’t go a miss. As much as I hate it, the British people voted to leave the European Union. I support a second referendum, I think it’s fair to ask if people still want to leave despite knowing more about how it’ll hurt. But I can’t blame any politician for acting upon the will of the British public in a representative democracy.

  9. This one always gets me because an ex from years ago bought me a Dire Straits box-set for Xmas and we broke up on the boxing day. It was my decision and I have no feelings towards her but this song always wells me up. This next one, I struggle to listen too it. I was on holiday in Italy and me and my last ex were sat outside the Pantheon in Rome with a beer eating a slice of pizza. The busker outside played this on his electric guitar. I don't think I can pin-point a moment in my life when I have been more happy or content. I just sat there crying behind my sunglasses listening to it.

  15. Bet Dyche was just playing to the gallery, trying to conjure up some imagined slight so he could jump on the Klopp being disrespectful bandwagon, like the straight-out-of-central-casting LMA dog he is.

  17. Love Alisson, he isn't just ace in goal and stops us conceding, his distribution directly sets up goals. I don't think I breathed or blinked in the entire time it was bouncing round our box to when it was bouncing round inside their net. When you get to the top teir players their price becomes irrelevant, there's only a handful of players at his level, only a handful of VVDs level, they become priceless. Started to see a bit of a glimpse of how we were playing last year, once it was 2-1 they seemed like they were having a bit of fun up front and could have scored more. More Shaqiri less problems.

  22. A win tonight would mean the best ever pts total from our 1st 15 matches in our history. In our fucking history - just think about that, we are a team who have won the league 18 times and who dominated football in the 70's/80's and here we are on the verge of our best ever haul of points from our 1st 15 games and it won't be enough if we do get it to be top of the league. Shows what we are up against - but also how well we are actually doing.

  25. You said that I'd lost all objectivity. I haven't, I just disagree with you. We play better, far better, without Henderson in our team. Nice lad, terrible player. West Ham, Newcastle, Fulham quality imo.

  30. Oh goodness. Labour not getting into power isn’t the same as LDs getting into government. Obviously. You spent the last 8 years saying they weren’t beholden, now you want to hold labour, who aren’t in government, to a different standard. You know what that’s called, don’t you? It begins with an H. As for your made made up stuff about hard Brexit, it doesn’t matter how much you repeat a lie, it doesn’t become the truth. No matter how much you read into something, ignore what has been said since, it doesn’t make it true. No matter how much you want to blame Labour and say they’re no different to the Tories, despite everything pointing to the opposite, it doesn’t make it reality. Nor will it win the LDs any votes. If you care about avoiding Brexit, or avoiding many of the issues that come with it, you’d be supporting the only party capable of actually doing something about it rather than crowing about some fantasy of being proved right.

  31. Personally I don't feel beholden to that result. It was after all advisory with no super majority . EU citizens with residency were not allowed to vote as were most Ex-pats Add to there are serious questions as to it's legitimacy in light of revelations over the activities of Banks and others and evidence of Russian funding and interference. Aside from the point you rightly make about people being properly informed now and entitled to change their minds I would argue to proceed to leave the EU based on the first result is compounding the lies, mistakes and illegal activities that gave rise to it.

  41. There hasn’t been a player that I’ve wanted to do so well from the start as Naby. Not since Nuri Sahin. Although the latter was played out of position, and generally mismanaged, Naby is starting to feel a bit Nuri. I think Naby needs to start showing something because he’s an amazing player.
