I expect a few teething problems. But we'll never get there wasting our time on these players. Carra, Jones, Downing, Spearing, Cole, Henderson...what are any of them doing there? We're not even trying to sell any of them from what it looks like. I was looking forward to the season a few weeks ago when i assumed these lads would be seen as surplus to requirements. Now I'm not so sure.

When you have a spine that includes Carragher and Spearing you are asking for trouble, add Downing and Cole (now off) and it is an inevitability. Players who should not be here never mind near the starting 11, who were not good enough last season. We are in the shitter.

When we DO have the ball and try to cross the midfield we have NO CLUE what to do. We seem to have no plan. This is supposed to be our best team minus a couple players... Fuck me. I want Suso, Shelvey and Agger.. Not Downey, Speo and Carra. Bring on the next generation!

But they're not necessarily first team regulars. Yes, most of them are shit, but this isn't our full team and it's the first game of the season

No movement from our attacking players, defenders standing looking for someone to pass to, too many long balls because of the lack of movement, at least we are not losing.

It's only the 1st game of the season I'm sure we will improve in the 2nd half
