I don't buy that argument. See Aquilani, Keane, Babel Riera, Kuyt, Lucas and Dossena.

Agree. People say benitez would be challenging for the title, nay, he'd have won a title with filth or the chavs money behind him. I dont agree.

He could spend shitloads of money and yes, he'd be able to possibly buy the likes of villa, silva and a few others but, his management style leads me to think he'd go back to rotation and resting players.

This is very bad news for us. I was banking on Hughes being there for a whole season to make our job easier to finish 4th.

Any new manager who can sort out their defense, they will easily finish 4th in my opinion. They have plenty of goals in that team and some really good defenders too. They just need someone to sort out their defence and they will go on a long winning run and finish 4th quite comfortably in my opinion.

Manchester City confirmed Mark Hughes will not carry out his normal post-match media duties this evening, which appears to set the seal on his time at the club.

A formal statement will be released later confirming Hughes, who has lost just two games this season and whose side defeated Sunderland 4-3 at Eastlands this afternoon, has been sacked.

Roberto Mancini was at today's game and is expected to be confirmed as Hughes' replacement at some point in the next couple of days.

1831: BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City have confirmed the sacking of manager Mark Hughes, and announced the appointment of Roberto Mancini as his replacement.

That's fucking low. I'm not a fan of Hughes but citeh have handled that very, very badly. Classless.
