I hope he shuts some of you up tonight. He might have a point with this too :

"I think I haven't performed my best in games against English teams," said the 28-year-old.

"But the last time was with Inter against Manchester United and it is harder playing for Italian teams against English teams because Italian teams are more concerned with not conceding."

It's all well and good him saying that, but it doesn't help that he's played like a thalidomide parapleigic against most of the English teams as well. He stunk the joint out against us with Inter.

He has been poor most times but I remember when we beat juve in the quarters of the cl in 2005 I was really impressed, his first touch was sublime and caused us nothing but problems, he's over rated yes but looking at the price tag unless he's in the messi/tortes mold he's going to get critics, fact is stats mean alot and when you look at his record at club level the last 5 seasons you can't say that a striker who scores 20 plus a season is shit, it's ridiculous....

Stats only mean a lot if you can interpret them properly. Zlatan is a really prolific goalscorer, but if you want to truly measure his ability by his goalscoring record, you need to consider who the goals were actually scored against. His record in big games, the Champions League, and at international level is rubbish, especially considering how much he bigs himself up in the press and how good the teams he plays for are. It's all well and good banging them in against small fry relegation fodder, but for him to take that step up, he needs to be doing it at the highest level, and to date, he hasn't particularly done so.

Good post. It's abbsurd to describe him as "shit" given how many goals he's scored and the fact that he's won 6 titles in Italy, back to back.

Thats nonsense. Against us for Juve and especially for Inter he had a bucket load of chances. He fluffed every one of them, badly.
