The Monkees just because of I'm a Believer and that's it.

Though do the Monkees count as a band as didn't The Wrecking Crew play it all? Maybe other session players

Just looked it up.  Session musicians on the first two albums, but The Monkees playing their own instruments on the rest.  So Theme From The Monkees, Last Train to Clarkesville, Stepping Stone and I'm A Believer were session musicians; Randy Scouse Git, Pleasant Valley Sunday and Daydream Believer were "real" Monkees songs.

Yeah just checked myself, only like Stepping Stone and I'm a Believer as such. I've heard Day Dream Believer of course but Randy Scouse Git, can't say I have, I wonder what made them name a song that?

Some players in that Wrecking Crew over the years.

I think they learned the phrase from Alf Garnett (talking to his son-in-law) and decided they liked it.

There is zero chance Davy Jones played an instrument on any record.
