Rugby league at Anfield?

I know this isn't really the thread for this question, and that there are 2 different rugby codes, but the fact that rugby matches have been played at Anfield sort of brings a certain relevance to it.

Does there need to be a certain distance between the try line and the out-of-play line or whatever it's called? I ask this because the 'end zone' space at Anfield would be pretty small I'd have thought. I know that Old Trafford stages a number of rugby matches, but the area around the pitch slopes down towards the stands so I don't know how this affects things when marking the pitch out for rugby. Also, grounds like Twickenham and especially Murrayfield have massive end zones, which surely allows the try scorer more time and space to get the ball down, whereas this zone is much much smaller at club grounds like Leicester Tigers' Welford Road.

Just watching a re run of an old game on the Liverpool channel at the moment and there's rugby league markings on the pitch, so was just wondering who played there and how often, cheers.

The blueshite and stoke play here once a season. And Steve Bruce's big fat head will bring his lot next season.

That weird game created a good quiz question that I use to fuck people about with. 'Rush scored for the vistors at Anfield. It wasn't against Liverpool. Who were the teams involved?'. Absolutely nothing for the first one to answer.

Might have confused people; the 'weird' game was rugby union, not rugby league. Weirder.

Several other sports have taken place at Anfield. A marathon, world boxing championship, tennis and the Harlem Globetrotters played basketball.

Hopefully one day we'll see football played again.
