To be honest here I think the Ref sent him off to make a statement. Time and time again before League matches we hear the pissed old cunt making statements how we "need a strong ref". He did the same before this game (adding in that they'd never won under this ref), so this fella as though, "I'm not having that" - play it to the letter of the law, unlike SYMM Howard Webb in the World Cup Final.

if everybody is expecting a yellow card why was it such a surprise when it was a red card?

I don't think it was a red card myself but until the rules and decisions are black and white then your'e gonna have these grey area decisions.

one ref gives a red' date=' one gives a yellow and another does nothing.

cunting refs are making decisions with huge football and financial implications.

VIDEO REFS NOW!!!!![/quote']

That's the crux of it though. The rules are lack and white, what Nani did was a red card......it's the fact most refs would give a yellow that its even remotely controversial.

David Moyes (Everton manager): "I think United have a right to surround the referee, he has cost them the biggest prize in football." [bbc]

Everton's David Moyes: "I think tonight Sir Alex Ferguson will be rightly as angry as he has ever been. The decision changed the game."

Seems like Moyes is distraught, they will all be boycotting anything Turkish at this rate.
