Heynckes and Magath have goo drecords.

Wouldn't risk Low, haven't a clue what he'd be like as a club manager and working everyday and what he'd be like at buying players.

Don't think that would be much of a problem.

We should get a Mexican. They are all a bit fucked in the head and it may just be crazy enough to work.

Mexicans a fucking class and the press would shit if he turned on them.

"Hey Gringo, I cut of your cahoonas and feed them to you're little chico's if you carry on. Now, you want boat, I sell you boat."

I`m amazed Hitzfeld is not mentioned a bit more, his record is amazing to be honest and if we want someone to bring us the league why not go for someone with 9 league titles with 3 different clubs and 2 CL titles with 2 different clubs.

Ottmar Hitzfeld

2 UEFA Champions League (With Borussia Dortmund in 1997; with FC Bayern Munich in 2001)

7 German championships (With Borussia Dortmund in 1995 and 1996; with FC Bayern Munich in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2008 )

2 Intercontinental Cup (With Borussia Dortmund in 1997 and FC Bayern Munich in 2001)

3 German Cups (With FC Bayern Munich in 2000, 2003 and 2008 )

2 Swiss Super League (With Grasshopper Club Zürich in 1990 and 1991)

3 Swiss Cups (With FC Aarau in 1985; with Grasshopper Club Zürich in 1989 and 1990)

Also worth a mention:

2 World Coach of the Year (1997 and 2001)

Voted Bayern Munich's greatest coach ever

Rated the best Bundesliga-coach of all time

For those of you talking about choosing by nationality, the reason was because I see Magath, Hitzfeld, Heynckes and Løw as very good candidates so why not make a thread about it, especially since german managers are an unknown quantity/quality in the PL, I listed Schaaf to get 5 names and because I think Werder play good football.

Isn't Hitzfeld really old?

And didn't Magath say Schalke is his last job?

Just turned 61, thats no age for a manager, same age as Wenger, 3 years younger than Capello and 8 years younger than Ferguson.

Xabi Alonso will be ready to take over in 8 years time when Hitzfeld retires after having won us several league`s and CL`s.

Could have 5 years in him if he wants.

He got Switzerland to the World Cup, so if we go in for him who knows, maybe he is ready to move back to club football and a completely different challenge in a new league?

I`d say Hitzfeld is one of the best candidates out there to be honest.

He pisses all over Hiddink who has been brought forward by many as the best possible candidate.

Who are they?

I know that twat Mourinho is top, who else would you like?

Mourinho would be my top choice i've made no bones about that.

Thats who'd i'd like, after that its not really a case of liking:

Bilic or Laudrup might be worth a shout I reckon.

O'Neill despite people hating him too would be worth a look at.

Just something I have been thinking about lately.

I cant think of any German managers having had the opportunity at the highest level in English football before, but maybe this coyuld be the way forward for us.

What a great idea! Can anyone think of any other nationalities that haven't managed in the Premiership before? It would seem to be an obvious criterion when considering our next manager.

Perhaps we could extend it to other Anfield staff?

Have we ever had a Mexican full-back?

A striker from the Congo?

A kitman from Lithuania?

A tea-lady from Switzerland?

Or a Brazilian central midfielder?

This is a great idea!

This I dont understand.

You say you have not considered any of the German candidates I have listed, especially Hitzfeld, Magath and Heynckes, but you think it could be worth giving the likes of Laudrup and Bilic a shout.

I`d love to know why.

The Bilic suggestions is the most strange one for me, what has he to show for exactly, I guess its because he won Englands qualification group with Croatia, it probably explains why Hiddink has such a star among many as well, knowing his Russia finished second before England, but remember this was England with McLaren in charge.

Anyway in the Euros Bilic Croatia was knocked out in the first game after the group stage by Turkey and for this years World Cup they did not even qualify.

I had my say on Laudrup in the Pelligrini thread and I really dont understand why he is brought forward either.

Guest Dog Chaser

Jupp Heynckes scored 220 goals in 385 games in the German league putting him 3rd behind Klaus Fischer (268 goals) and Gerd Muller (365 goals).

I'd have him upfornt with Torres.

Hans-Ulrich Rudel was german stuka dive-bomber pilot and was the most highly decorated German serviceman of the war. Rudel was one of only 27 military men to be awarded the Knights Crosswith Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds, and the only one to be awarded the Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.
