Ridiculous as it is, there’s a good chance that’s the title done and dusted, such is the absurd level of perfection required to combat their cheating. From 17/18 onwards, the only time they’ve been ahead of us at any point and failed to win the league was 19/20, where they were top on goal difference after the first game.

I reckon we had a maximum of 20 pts we could drop to be in with a shout this season.

We almost certainly will need to be at that level - as insane as it sounds and is - but that is about the size of it.

City fans may enjoy the result and 4 or 5 moments in a game but that's it. The rest must be as boring for them as it is every one else. Reminds me of Serie A in the 90s when Channel 4 had it, most games without Milan where boring as fuck.

I think the problem is the psychological aspect. 19/20, we crushed City’s spirit by getting off to an astonishing start and they simply couldn’t catch up - that’s literally the only thing that has beaten them in the last six years.

 

Falling behind and then going on an outstanding run is never going to be good enough, because they always have that little bit of leeway and simply won’t fail to do enough to get over the line. Last season, for instance - Yeah, we did well to almost catch them, but it was never going to be enough because from that point onwards, they weren’t going to allow themselves to drop any more points until there was a buffer.

At the end of the day they are the better side. There’s no shame in it. They are the better side because of the cheating but that’s a different argument. Everton are cheating but look at the fucking Kip of them.
