Third vote for Giant Steps. Brilliant album, bursting at the seams with genius.

Wake Up was a good album as well, it was a shame they got swept up with the whole Britpop thing because they weren't that kind of band at all.

Wake up is 75% brilliant but a bit of shite on there. I actually like 'It's Lulu'.

The last couple of albums are far far too clean cut. Just listening to 'King Size' now - can't recall if I've ever listened to it before - far too bland.

There's a song on here that sounds like Robbie Fucking Williams

Yeah, I bought the one after Wake Up but I couldn't tell you what it was called or what songs are on it.

Looks like they decided to chase commercial success and it bit them in the arse. Proper shame.

How good is You & Me? She wrote that one as well.

Love that Album.

It is brilliant! So underrated as an artist, such an amazing voice. First steps to be honest, but looking forward to hearing more of her albums!

All thanks to the good folks on here!

That's the first good review I've seen for it!

On Metacritic it got an average of just under 7/10 in critic reviews. It's had some really good reviews but also some quite poor ones too. I have all their stuff so want to get it, just want to wait until it's a little cheaper.

Managed to find this as an 'Original Album Series' with four other Aretha albums for £9.99. £2 per album, rude not to.

Scott Walker 4.

Wowzers!

Just genius from start to finish, one of my all time favourites. I could listen to Duchess and The World's Strongest Man all day long.

Not a fan of soul music normally, but ive been listening to this loads recently and it's sublime.

Saw him in a small club recently on the album tour, his voice was phenomenal.

His first solo effort Black Hours is fantastic too.

Only got to see the Walkmen - not him (negative side of living in Liverpool and not driving!) - his voice is amazing. Yep, it is - Self Pity is a fucking tune.

Would love to see him.

She had a voice on her, far better than I thought. Cracking album, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Amy Winehouse got her influences from this kind of record.
