  1. Past hour
  2. My boy is doing that 10k that the GF so kindly sponsored him for on Sunday. Asking him before about his preparation, he said and I quote… “I’ll be fine I’m sure, just gotta not stop at any point and then I should be okay” That’s the kind of logic that got him into a decent uni.
  3. One for the World of a Woman thread. ' Yeah, Gladys, just stop in front of everybody trying to watch the game to have a gas with Hettie '
  4. Yeah I get that, but when you look at the squad now we have abousultely loads of young players with potential. We need players that are ready to go, not more project players that might come good in a few years.
  5. With Achterberg also leaving, I’ve read somewhere that Feyenords keeper coach is something of a forward thinking trend setter. An article on what they do here… https://www.catapult.com/blog/feyenoord-monitoring-goalkeepers …no idea if we do this or something similar. Assume we do something.
  6. Maybe we wanted to see how well Kudus did in the Premier league first? We did a similar thing with Sadio Mane and Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil Van Dijk. I'd be pretty happy with something like Kudus from West Ham and Antonee Robinson from Fulham. Add one of the centre backs that's available on a free too.
  7. I think you can have a sprinkling of punts on cheap, talented kids like those two without affecting the budget much , but Kudus was more an option further up the chain probably instead of Gakpo or Gravenberch.
  8. It wasn't me who experienced it mate, Adam did. Must have been horrific for him and his lad.
  9. We tried that with Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay. The problem with potential is that if you want to be successful you can't afford to be a testing ground for potential.
  10. Despite having zero knowledge of what jobs they actually do, I reckon it’s Chris Morgan who needs to go. He was re-employed in Aug’20 and we’ve had nothing but injury ravaged seasons since. The most annoying thing is how many players we’re having break down with seemingly the same injury as they just returned from - Diaz last season, Mo, Szoboszlai, Trent & Nunez all this season. I read Slot works closely with whoever the conditioning staff is and doesn’t risk players in “the red zone”. I’m sure I’ve heard Klopp say he does the same, given how much Klopp speaks about player welfare, I doubt he intentionally runs players into injuries. I can only assume Klopp is being handed some duff information somewhere.
  11. Fair enough but you can probably eat more than you think.
  12. yeah that's what i have been doing, 3 x10 reps on the bottom stair. maybe its a case of it getting worse before it gets better?
  13. Just gonna stick with what’s been working, mate. Still trending downwards, lost over a stone and a half. Fitting into jeans and shorts that I haven’t for a while. Bit annoyed at myself for being so hasty in handing down decent hoodies and t-shirts to my teenager(s). Reckon I could ask for them back?
  14. I was at that game with my arl fella, my first game. You missed out mate, but at least it was for an excellent reason.
  15. He's not heard of Teams or Slack then.
  16. And you stayed married. You’re a Saint and no mistake, she’s one lucky lady.
  17. Just eat nuts, fruit, veg, lean meats, potatoes, rice and nothing processed. Boring but effective. Avoid all those sauces rammed with sugar as well.
  18. Nice one. I appreciate the input, man. I’m basically living off the calorie tips you’re posting anyway! That and the only eating once a day are what I’ve taken away from the forum so far. Mate, I ate so much food at that BBQ I was visibly larger afterwards.
  19. in the last election, the tories had an 80 seat majority. unless im being thick, labour have got to convince those fuck nuggets to vote for labour instead.
  20. Punk rock legend. Shellac were one of the great live bands.
  21. You didn't put 4lbs on unless you overate by 14,000 cals above what you burned. What you had was 4lbs of water weight, undigested food and glycogen. As that food passed through you and as the water left you and the glycogen was used up your weight slowly normalised. Over the course of a week you will find that if you have over eaten across it by 3,500 cals you will put a pound of fat on. You or nobody else puts 4lbs of actual fat on by eating as you did at weekend. You might have overeaten a bit and adjusting what you eat over following days downwards is not a bad idea at all - but living off carrot sticks might be pushing it a bit too far. And you certainly will not have set self back 2 weeks over 4 days. You may also find if you are over restricting self that you could end up having binges and that can become a pattern....track what you eat and aim to eat consistently at a level that enables you to lose weight at a sensible and steady rate and means you are satiated every day as well as getting all the nutrients you need.
  22. Looks like but in black and white its not as easy to tell. Spurs v Man U is my best guess.
