Can't link the trailer unfotunately due to work restrictions;

Seven years after he was last on our screens Partridge - one of the country's most popular comic characters - appears in a new one-off online series, made up of a dozen 11-minute episodes, all written by the show's original creator Armando Iannucci.

The trailer - a montage of clips with nothing more than mournful instrumental soundtrack - doesn't give much away, but the episodes will see him on air once again, presenting his new show Mid Morning Matters for the North Norfolk Digital radio station.

He is assisted by younger DJ Simon (played by Edinburgh Comedy Aawrd-winning comedian and poet Tim Key) with whom he claims to have 'great banter'.

Episodes will see Alan confronting an Alan Partridge imposter on Twitter, and hosting a phone-in to find the greatest ever person from Norfolk (in which Horatio Nelson goes up against Delia Smith).

In one he also discusses his fondness for Billie Piper, telling listeners: 'I like her face. She has a very round cherubic face, rather like a Victorian doll that's somehow been re-animated. Say what you like about Billie Piper - but she is the most popular prostitute on ITV.'

The new episodes, sponsored by Fosters, will appear on Fosters Funny from November 5.

Suffice to say this is pretty much the greatest thing I've heard in a long time, I cannot wait, format sems a bit strange but hey ho when it comes to Partridge any new material is duly welcome.

Thought this was gonna be about the great band from Sweden of the same name.

They provided one of the most surreal moments of going to aways that I can ever remember. Coach pulls into the servies after a West Ham game last year, someone snaffles an 80s cd out of said servies. Take on me comes on on the coach and the whole coach is up dancing and singing along.

Used to love the aways, me best days going the match they were.

Or even Norway.

Coogan is also on tonight in The Trip:

Comedy series starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.

When Steve is commissioned by the food supplement of a Sunday newspaper to review half a dozen restaurants, he decides to mix work with pleasure and plans a trip around the north of England with his food loving American girlfriend. But when his girlfriend decides to leave him and return to the States, Steve is faced with a week of meals for one, not quite the trip he had in mind. Reluctantly, he calls Rob, the only person he can think of who will be available. Rob, never one to turn down a free lunch (let alone six) agrees, and together they set off for a culinary adventure.

Over the course of six meals at six different restaurants in and around the Lake District, Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales, this ultimate odd couple find themselves debating the big questions of life over a series of culinary delights.

Their first stop is the Inn at Whitewell in the beautiful Trough of Bowland.

BBC 2, 10pm.

Saw a clip of it over the weekend and it looked pretty funny.
