Personally I think refs come into these games thinking "how can I get away from here tonight with my reputation in tact". They don't want to start throwing round yellow cards, as they know that will end up in reds and when it does that's what makes the headlines the following day. All the rest of the country is talking about now is how we're bottling it just as ferguson suggested and Webb hasn't registered on the radar of anyone other than Liverpool fans.

 

Agree with that. At the back of webb's mind would have been "don't send off yet another everton player in a derby, don't give a soft penalty" as he knows that Moyes would still be talking about it in 12 months' time. Refs are influenced by this sort of stuff.

Is this how bad we are getting that we blame every ref its embarrassing every game there is always some fucking complaint about the referee. So we should have got a penalty but so should they. NOTE It was not the referee that made us draw it was IMO a great team strategy from the Blueshite. We played shite giving the ball away all of the time. I still think that formation is the way to go but we have to learn to pass and move again and not lose the god damn ball all the time. Most of the team were shocking last night watching the defense was embarrassing. WE WERE LUCKY THEY HAD NO REAL STRIKERS FIT.

The 1st post of the thread said they're not blaming the ref.

 

Howard Webb is the best of a bad bunch. I think most refs get better as they get older and just when they hit their peak they're told they have to retire.
