Dangerous precedent

Yes they do, the Friday before last when the Villa deadline was passed.

Not waiting a week and making Villa look like idiots by extending their deadline.

That's not what they said though. They've said £18m is too much for Barry. Well what's changed from the Friday before last, Alonso wasn't sold then, and they were still desperately trying to sort out the deal at £18m even past the deadline..

Villa were silly to put a deadline in the first place.

May be the american cunts had a agreement with the bank that they need £18m in 3 installments so they pay the money to Villa in 3 installments. May be Villa changed it to 2 so we can't afford to pay that anymore so the price being "too high". Mate, clearly, I don't know what happened and my guess is as good as anyones.

Yes but don't forget that Liverpool had the agreement with the banks for Villa's changed two installment deal (which they only received by post on Wednesday) and it was faxed through to Villa at 5.15pm on Friday. It was only Randy Lerner & Mon rejecting it out of hand as it was passed their so called deadline.

Barry should of been a Liverpool player in time for the Valarenga match.

So, MoN rejected that offer (because it came past deadline) and said next day that Liverpool have all the time in the world to sign Barry?

Nothing makes sense in this saga.

That is exactly what happened, and I totally agree it was a ridiculous stance & decision Villa took, both in setting a deadline & rejecting Liverpool's amended offer as it arrived 15 mins late.

The owners borrowed the £20 million as part of the refinance they did and told Rafa that was his budget plus what he could raise with sales.

Sorry for using the dreaded 'net spend' but i think that currently stands at about £12 million ish meaning Rafa has £8 million left.

Although Rafa is confident of getting more money thanks to sales to Voronin and Pennant this would mean the owners getting a short term loan whilst the sales were going through but the only trouble is they can not get hold of anymore cash.

They talk about money been there for a bid for Silva but it looks set on that Silva is joining Barcelona so this seems to be a typical Everton tactic of trying to make it look good when the reality is that transfer would not go ahead.

Of course the sale of Alonso would mean Rafa then has the cash to sign Barry but circumstances have meant that has not happened.
