I saw him for two minutes at the world cup - he didn't look like a world beater and for that reason, I am out (unless he signs and becomes the new peter thompson/steve heighway/john barnes).

Nando is crying out for decent delivery from a wide player who can draw players to make space and feed in a cut back or a ball in front to run on to...

Let's hope he is an upgrade on Riera (who had his moments but no consistency).

I hope both Wickham and elia rumours are true both are at the standard we should be looking at insted of the likes of C.Cole and Huth tbh,AS ATK said in another thread alot of clubs are desparate for cash at the moment and it would appear we have it for a change,in that articl it said wolfsberg were in for him, didnt they want babbel in the summer so maybe we could strike some sort of deal were we take elia unapossed by them and we give them Babbel at a slightly knocked down price win/win really.

Doubt it as some people are saying that Hamburg are using us to get a better deal from Vfl Wolfsburg (who will have Dzeko money available). But then again why link him to us only?

Hamburg are struggling financially they've spent big on players/wages over the last 2-3 years to try and break Bayern's grip and now they are suffering for it so £15m sounds low but maybe they've got no choice but if they want to start a bidding war john henry doesnt seem the type to get involved with all that sort of thing so it could be a take it or leave it offer from us

It is nothing about him not playing well and wanting to leave as Goal states. Hamburg are not doing well financially according to some reports and hence want to cash in on him.

They've done a leeds paying silly money/wages van nistelroy is 34 years old picking up £100k a week ffs!they went for it fair play to them but it looks like half the stars will leave on the cheap

Hmm..interesting. Comolli was talking about taking advantage of clubs in trouble around europe so may be this is one of those.

Elia is a fantastic player, would be absolutely stoked. Pretty much an anti-Babel, in that he can actually play football. Apart from the fact he's of Surinamese descent and fast, they're pretty much nothing alike.

Good feet, direct, can beat a man with skill and not just punting it 30m up the touchline and can score goals. Reckon he'll be a real hit in the Premier League.

Really hoping this is true.
