Perhaps we will see an apology from all those who demanded that he stayed on against Wigan?

(in fact he should have been taken off earlier)

I look forward to reading it alongside the same apology that Torres was "rested too much last season" when being over-played screwed him up.

He will be back for the first leg of Madrid i reckon. hopefully it is only 2 games he misses, pompey away, city home. Others have to step up, they did early on so i dont see why they cant now.

Even if he doesnt play at madrid i think that will be okay as we will be very tight and try and sneak a goal and i wouldnt be surprised to see a 0-0 over there anyway. I think the cl is going to be full of penalty shoot outs for us!

You sound like Benitez (and Houllier)

So he's picking teams based on fans and media criticism now?

I am not worried about him missing Madrid away. Its that sort of game Rafa can do standing on his head. We need him more in the league games.

I find this 'Real Madrid are a peace of piss attitude' a bit strange.

We are not in good shape (neither are chelsea before that is cast up).

Madrid could hand us our arse and then that could effectively be the end of our season.

I look forward to an apology for being right about all the mistakes he makes and seeing them coming to fruition in that case then.

I doubt Madrid could hand anyone, anyone's arse. They've been piss poor all season.

I don't think it's as simple as that. Carragher has played how many games this season? Not injured. Lampard who plays in Gerrard's position, played every league and championsleague game the other year and didn't get injured. It's just bad luck Gerrard got injured.

Not always in agreement with you (think you are playing the finance card a bit too much), but this is spot on, and something I've mentioned frequently. No midfielder or attacker is going to go a whole season in the PL without it affecting their musculature at a given point. Torres has looked knackered all year, Gerrard started off badly, even super-human Ronaldo had an injury this fall!

People with explosive pace are the ones most likely to get strains, so Torres is a constant high risk-case for the rest of his career now. Not feeling to confident about Stevie either, as he's not getting any better/younger now...

Our physio department (and our fans) have a lot to answer for...

The most disappointing thing is that Rafa has given in to the demands of his critics and our supporters.
