People had similar comments about Baros this time last season and with him I couldnt even see the potential and also with Hamann a few years back. Quality players take time to develop.

 

At the end of the day one season we had a powerful, pacey striker with an eye for goal while last season we had a complete pussy who couldnt handle the stick he got from press, fans etc.

 

However hes banging the goals in pre-season and so deserves to be part of the squad. I doubt he will recover at Anfield because he did too much wrong last season but who knows.

 

As for Vladi when everyone is fit hes not gonna make the first team but hes definitely good enough for the bench.

Apart from that and a few isolated games he has stunk the place out and seen off the likes of Litmanen in the same period.

Heskey needs his head sorting. Maybe it is sorted now judging by the fact he shot every time he had the ball today and beat his man loads. No one has made the point thought that the way the team play has affected him. He was a rampaging striker in the treble season. When Owen came back he got changed into a flick on man. He should ghave stuck 2 fingers up to Owen and Houllier and said bollocks to that I liked scoring goals. With freedom to atttack now he might not be shite

Seriously though, the lad is having a good pre-season and we can only hope that he takes that attitude and ability into the new season.
