Wayne Bridge Anyone?

At his best, he'd be a fair distance ahead of either Riise or Ste Warnock. The question is how long he'd take to get back to that kind of form - he's not played in about nine months.

I think Konchesky might be a better bet myself.

I think Konchesky is shit.

Bridge would improve our LB position. I think all he needs is a decent run to get back his form and fitness. He'll never get that at Chelsea. I would offer them £5M for him, and offset that with the £2M Fulham are supposed to be willing to pay for Traore.

If he can get back to the player of Southampton or early Chelsea days (and I don't see any reason why he won't) then we'll be onto a winner.

BTW, if we signed Bridge and if our LM's end up being Kewell and Gonzales for next season, I think there is a possibility that Riise will be sold.

was talking to a mate last night about it. It looks like he wont be a regular for cfc and seems to be finding himself in the same situation as Scott Parker and SWP/ Both broke into the england frame, went to cfc, now not used and may not make the squad for the WC.

For someone like bridge a loan move for the rest of the season wouldnt do him any harm or a permenant move away. I mean ok the money's good but as a player surely you can see that 10 games a year isnt all that is it. Would you rather earn 45k a week and not play or 25k a week and play, maybe in the WC.

When your old and fat what would matter more. Anyway I think he'd be a good signing but 100% they wouldnt sell him to us.

Fair do's i think he could play in momo's position meself.

Yeah, so do I. I don't think we need him because we've got Momo, but he's the one (and only) Newcastle player who's played consistently well this season.

Personally, I think we may well end up buying another English midfielder either this month or in the summer.
