Looked very promising as a youngster but as we've seen with our young lads this year there comes a time when they need pulling out the team. Insua never got that break and it broke him really. Glad he seems to be recapturing some form and building on his early promise.

he was excellent when he played in the 08/09 season and then the next season played pretty much every game due to Fabio always being injured and he suffered for it, then Roy being Roy binned him off on loan in favour of Paul Fucking Konchesky, came back for a bit in that pre-season under Kenny but didn't look anything special so probably right decision to sell him but I'm glad how he has seemingly turned it around and have no reason to wish him ill, just a shame we didn't have an experienced left back fit in the 09/10 season, might have worked out differently for him

Overplayed eh? Fiorentina and Fulham away 2009/10 season, both before end if October, I was unfortunate to witness the 2 worst performances I've seen from a LFC fullback, he was like a pub player.

Insua was epically shit at times, I remember that because I remember writing as much on these forums cursing his name to the high heavens in match threads.

 

But hes joined a long list of players who've been proclaimed to be almost as bad as Ali Dia without taking into account any mitigating circumstances or any grasp of reality whatsoever.

 

He was a decent left back who "in reality" did get thrown in at the deep end a wee bit too young. The reality also is though hes not top class, we don't miss him and hes unlikely to ever be considered a real top class left black.

 

Its ridiculous though how people seem to take vendettas against players, call them shite and just ignore every other factor at play in their time at the club. It baffles me at times.
