it looked like the same problems again. it might have been a configuration problem and the site wasn't allowing enough connections. it's been altered now and we'll just have to see how it goes.

Same thing again today at almost exactly the same time. No error message this time though I just left the tab open for 30 minutes while it was loading and eventually it loaded.

 

Yeah, I was online when it happened and rebooted the server as soon as the problem started. With it being the same time each day, it has to be something to do with a scheduled task that is running, so I'm going to check that tonight. It hasn't happened at any other time, so it should be easy enough to track down hopefully.

Interesting, thanks for letting me know. The rebuilding of the indexes wasn't due to finish until the early hours of this morning, but it stopped mid afternoon. I thought maybe it hadn't completed the job, but when the site seemed to be working ok I had two choices.

 

Switch the site back on, or restart the rebuild search indexing again, which would have meant the site went off for another 24hrs.

 

At some point I'm going to have to rebuild them, but I'm going to try and see if there's a quicker way of doing it, or if it can be done without taking the site offline.
