Everybody is going on about how they are ashamed about the chant about Rooneys mother, and I feel the same too.

 

Does anyone feel any sympathy therefore, towards a certain Eric Cantona, since he was given personal abuse about his mother before he reacted by defending her honour, and due to mitigating circumstances, did he get too harsh a punishment?

Players are paid a GREAT deal of money to "put up with" chants like that. Although Some do over-step the mark i agree.

 

But what cantona did was inexcusable no matter whether the bloke was a twat or not. He only got away with it coz he man ure and sir exlax was behind him.

 

Whereas on the other hand i feel some players deserve a good bit of stick after they openly give it during games, and in the press (gary neville for one)

with regards to cantona no professional should have done what he did, digger could have been forgiven to smacking a few bluenoses after all the banan throwing racist shite he got from them, but no he maintained his dignity and let his football do the talking. if dicks, ruddock or vinnie jones had attacked a fan as cantona did they would have got an immediate life ban, perhaps because they didnt play for manure!
