Sorry, I meant the last two series. Enjoyed the previous four. The last couple though, when it was just a fucking blood bath every week without a cop to be seen...yeah, not for me.

You're right though, I find very few programmes watchable. Hence having watched every episode of The Thick of It about eight times. Going to go through all of Deadwood again soon.

I remember being gutted when you only gave Veep a 7/10 in the Ianucci years.

The Jonah nicknames alone were an 8.5/10.

I stand by my theory that UK programmes which are firstly funny, and secondly serious/earnest/dramatic/heartfelt/etc are far better than their US counterparts, and vice versa.

A US Thick of It just didn't work for me, just as Blackadder, Peep Show and Fawlty Towers wouldn't either. Similarly a British Wire, Deadwood or Sopranos... shite.

It’s not The Thick of It, because what could be, but the first four seasons are good stuff.

I think that’s not an unfair conclusion.

Given I first brought her up, it is right that I present her enduring work:

She was originally in some awful kids show called Mia & Me that my daughter used to like.

”Daddy, can we watch Paw Patrol again please?”

”Errrrrm, I think Mia & Me is coming on in a minute…”.
