Laudrap was wanted as Hodgson's assistant.

I believe Laudrup will be a highly rated manager in the future, as i think he got what it takes.

But what a joke to offer him the assistant manager job next to Roy. I understand why he refused. He has much higher ambitions than being the other guy, even if its in a club like Liverpool.

Isn't this an old story? Was in the danish media a month or 2 ago.

Not that I was aware of, struggling to speak English as I do.

Agree Laudrup will make a top manager, I even mentioned him instead of the bumbling old buffoon in the summer.

I'm more than happy to have the King here now though thank you.

Who's Laudrap?

Both Michael and Brian Laudrup was exeptional players. I think Michael Laudrup will become a great manager. Did well at Getafe and are doing pretty good at Mallorca too. In a couple of years I guess he will manage a far greater side than Mallorca.

Just embarrasing if we offered him a job as Woy assistant. :wallbutt:

Not this Laudrup nonsense again, what has he ever done to make people think he will become a good manager?

Its romantic squabble based on his career as a player, nothing else.

And yes its an old story.

I have followed his sides since he was a succesful manager in Brondby IF in Denmark. And i must admit i see a lot of potential in him. He has a great charisma, and loves developing young players. He prefer to play fast attacking football, and wants intelligent, and technical good players.

I just like his style, and admire his tactical abillities.

But i agree with you. He has to prove himself at top level before, the big europe recognize him as a big talents as the people in Denmark believe he is.

Laudrup was never in contention for the assistant manager's job, the whole story is based on a misunderstanding. Believe it or not Roy, a man who appreciates "experience", wanted Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trappattoni as his preferred choice.

Shortly after his appointment he met with the then M.D. Christian Purslow and when the subject of backroom staff was broached he urged Purslow to "twy weally weally hawd to get that loud wop"

Laudrup did well with Getafe and is doing a good job now with Mallorca.

Hopefully it takes more than that to become Liverpool manager?

Just after the january transferwondow closed he came out with a sharp criticism of the board and the CEO at Mallorca, because they didn't buy a striker for him. He talked about this at a pressconference. I don't like his way of during it.

First sight of trouble and he would complaine and if he was to be succesfull he'd be of to Real or Barcelona given the chance.

he might be young, but he isn't a long term manager for Liverpool.
