Besides f*****ll obviously. Other than that anyone, any sport from any era.

It's Lomu for me, lost count of the number of fights I got into defending him at school when pricks were saying he was going to snuff it, I know some don't like him for being the first 'star' in rugby, and some think he was overrated (I'd always assumed that only happened here for obvious reasons, but some Frogs I met said the same so I'm guessing these idiots exist around the world)

I however idolised him as a kid, and till now there hasn't been anyone in any sport (including f***ball) who comes close to him in my eyes. He had everything, a fact often forgotten by certain idiots who try and make him out as a lumbering shithouse when he was anything but. He possesed quick feet, unlike other quick footed players however he could go over his opponents as well as around them. I still can't help but wonder what could have been if he hadn't gotten ill, how many more tests, how many more tries, how much better would he have been?

Michael Johnson. I remember watching him in Atlanta and Sydney and just being totally amazed by his performances. His 400m Gold in Sydney was one of those moments when you realised you'd just seen something very special. Ace pundit too.

This still leaves me virtually speechless, "...and he didn't even try all of the way...":

And as a side dish:

Good shout, I don't usually get excited over athletics, but that was insane, the little touch of arrogance at the end is what made it.

really ??

i guess you must have missed this race then - the one where he talked himself up as the fastest man in the world after the olympics (a title historically given to the 100m champ - donovan bailey), then cowardly faked an injury after bailey was about to embarrass him in a 150m staged race to end the debate.

i'm going to have to retire and ponder whether a negging is in order.

I always love the bit where he goes to his family or team and this asian kid gets trapped in the arms. He can't contain his glee. 1:50 in.

Here's mine.

Did he really? How do you know, because Bailey said he did (a statement which he later apologised for saying his emotions had got the better of him)?

Anyhoo, he was still a top class athlete and his performances in Atlanta and Sydney are some of the best of all time.
