*Encourages Neil to be cynical....*

Laugh innit.

Ah what the hell, why not...

What's happened to politics in this country? Throughout history democracy has been about a contest of ideas, of different visions of how society should function and how it can advance. That's why people all over the world have been inspired to take part in it, to improve it and even to die for it.

British politics in the 21st century isn't about ideas and vision any more, it's about managerial competence. Yes of course there are differences between the parties, but nowhere near enough to have a healthy democracy which the majority of people genuinely want to get involved in. And I think a lot of the blame for that lies with the British people themselves - if you live in a democracy where you have the ability to make your voice heard and change things, then you get the politics and the politicians you deserve.

Not too surprised except for the fact that I thought I'd come out with Labour on top. I knew the Tories would come off worst, I'd rather stick my cock in a mincer than vote for those twats.

As expected from me, i'm pretty on the fence about most things except the rich helping out a bit more (and not hiding income from the tax man with clever accountants) and bloody immigrants.

I wonder how many of us will actually vote come the next GE? I dont mind saying that I will be voting Lib Dem, it's not a wasted vote anymore.

Wise words, I'm a tad ashamed of my results as I class myself as a Socialist, however the older I become the more of a "Champagne" Socialist I also become.

From now on my political views are shall we say, flexible?

Your expected outcome:

Labour

Your actual outcome:

Labour -17

You should vote: Conservative

The Conservative Party is strongly against joining the Euro and against greater use of taxation to fund public services. The party broadly supported the Iraq war and backs greater policing and ID cards. The Tories are against increasing the minimum wage above the rate of inflation, and have committed to abolishing university tuition fees. They support 'virtual vouchers' for private education

I find myself in a dilemma. Having read about their policies on their website, I find myself in almost full agreement with the policies of the BNP. However, who wants thugs like the BNP in government? Having said that, we already have John Prescott.

It begs the question: "Should we vote for policies, parties or candidates?" I have no doubt that most people vote for parties. Perhaps if those people voted for policies then we might get somewhere as a society and country.

What is certain is that this shambolic incompetent and corrupt government have fucked over everyone but the ruling elite.

You should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

How would that work then? Knew there was a reason nobody votes for them, give me Communism based on John Nash's 'Equilibrium' any day of the week, and no scouse councillors.
