I voted for George Best. It wasn’t a difficult decision. Best is my dad’s all-time favourite non-Liverpool player, so I grew up hearing stories about him and regularly watched videos of him. I nominated him for both right and left wing, will he be in contention for the latter, @Bjornebye?

I’m guessing most posters are in their 30s-40s, and because they’ve grown up with so much football on tele, just never had the time/need to look at videos of older players.

With a lot of great players, there's a question about how much more they could have achieved, had they been in a different time or place or if all that running around hadn't made them so thirsty.*.
