Just bought this

While doing a job at a small struggling arts centre earlier, I walked in the door and was immediately transfixed on this magnificent image of Jimi. It's a stencilled image about 24" X 30" on canvas, but it's what the artist has done with it that makes it special. Had it just been a single colour background, it wouldn't have looked nearly as good. But as it is, I just had to to have it.

 

I asked if the artist was nearby and available for a photo for the story as well, and a few minutes later he turned up. This was his first sale, so he was more than happy to turn up to collect. Happier than he looks in the pic, it must be added, but a really sound guy.

 

It's my Christmas present to myself, so I'm a happy chappy. All I need now is my Secret Santa CD to arrive on time and I'm all set.

 

These are the kind of things that you usually see and they're already sold or otherwise no longer available, so I'm really chuffed.

On a similar note i picked up 2 Banksy canvas pictures today for my hallway, not originals as you can guess. I was pretty chuffed as well.

That's bit shit that, would have been better getting pissed & treating yourself to a suck with the money. Never seen the point in paying good money for a piece of fuckin canvas that someones drawn on. Should have went to Ikea & saved yourself a few bob. Each to their own & all that I suppose. Just think it's shite.
