A mate from work is going to Dublin for four days next month, and his girlfriend is a fan of Irish traditional/folk music.Any advice or info where they will find any bars or venues in dublin?

Also, its been about ten years since i was there but is gibneys pub and silks chinese restaurant in Malahide still going?

I have recommended a trip to Bray and Howth on the DART,any other ideas or places of interest gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Gibneys is one of my locals and is indeed still going..great bar.Not sure about silks but Siam Thai is 5 or 6 doors down from Gibs and its the best Thai food i've tasted outside of thailand. The grand hotel ,around the corner from Gibneys is a great spot for a carvery, one of the best I've been too...Bray is shit,a long trek on the dart for not very much.

Howth on the otherhand is a great spot. The harbour is jammed with some superb seafood resturants and the seals that live in the harbour will melt any bird.Fresh fish and chips in Burdocks is a must as is dublin bay prawns in wrights tapas fishmongers.

Re: Irish music...what nights are they in town ?? cos it kinda depends on what nights as most of the bars only do trad on certain nights
