Great idea, well in

Simon, ATK, Dougie Do'ins, SteveH, the other RR, Barry Wom, Dave and others from here have been putting loads of work into that website, the e-mails and other initiatives. Everyone should get behind their efforts and do what you can to rid the club of G&T.

I have started a thread asking for peoples input on the site.

Who will I get the most emails from, Simon, DaveU or those trying to sell me Viagra?

Honestly, can we cut the mails down (use the FB wall) to Lfc stuff not 'I've only received...'. I personally didn't mail some as mass mailing private addys is a bit spammy.

With Simon Green pushing it hard to LFC fans the message is moving but not moving quick enough and it will be the inabaility of fans to recognise that with cancer and aids doing everything they can to stay in charge our club will be well and truly fucked if we as fans of LFC dont act now. GEt them out and we have to pressurize not only RBS but the government too and if we can 20,000 emails not fucking 164 then it would send a message to the government that if they want votes they better fucking help us.

You fuckers sitting on the fence and thinking that what good your email is gonna do are pathetic and your apathy is one of the main reasons LFC will be in the shit for a long time to come if you dont help us all get rid of these two idiots.

They are a complete disease to LFC and they wont rest until they have sucked every living breathe out of LFC and ever dollar out of our account. Shankly would be rolling in his grave .... turning our club into a personal american piggy bank and the debt we are in because they didnt actually wanna put their own money into our club...

There is always a contract killing.... LMFAO.. it's that desperate now... There's bound to be somebody out there who know somebody who knows somebody in the private hire business.

That or actually get apethic "sitting on the fence" fuckers to join the cause before its too late...

My generic response from O'Hara

Dear Mr ****

Thank you for your message. I have received a number similar. However I must advise you that I have taken this matter up with the government in the past. The response which I have received is that although the government has a controlling interest in RBS and concerns itself with general policy on loans to businesses it does not involve itself in the micromanagement of individual transactions. The bank is expected to make such decisions on the basis of the financial credentials of individual applicants.

Yours sincerely

Eddie O'Hara

Ooh, sounds interesting.

Finally got a response from my MP (Michael Meacher) today, as follows:

Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding your concerns about the amount of debt owed to the Royal Bank of Scotland by the owners of Liverpool FC.

Unfortunately the recklessness of owners is a growing problem and one that other Premier League clubs are facing. I think it is a disgrace how these clubs are bled dry by owners who appear to have no commitment to the clubs or the areas where they are based and I think many MPs have been lobbied by their constituents to press the government to act.

I have raised this with the Treasury and the Sports Minister, as I feel a combined effort is needed to deal with the problem and the bank is certainly not going to call in the loan unless pressure is applied centrally.

I will of course get back in touch when I have received a response.

Go Mikey! Go Mikey!

Incidentally, if anyone has come late to this thread and intend to mail your MP, get it done before next Monday, 12th April. As the election date has now been announced, parliament will be oficially dissolved on that date and your present MP will then no longer have the right to represent you until such time as parliament is reconvened after the election.

For me, it's not an issue as my MP represents a very safe Labour seat but for some of you in more marginal constituencies, you may want to delay any contact until after the election in case your MP is no longer your MP! Realistically, they will be able to do very little between now and next Monday anyway, but there would be no harm at all in contacting them to make it clear that this is an issue that will be on your mind when deciding who to vote for.

Once again, thanks to everyone that sent e-mails - let's keep chipping away at the owners at every opportunity.

There is nothing the goverment can do about this.

The bank cant call the loan in unless LFC default, they can only not renew the facillity.

The goverment are hardly going to instruct the bank not to make money out of LFC.

They may not be able to directly command the bank to call in the loan (in fact forget "may not", they can't) but it's all about making the whole climate less comfortable for RBS and the owners. If they're going to do it, so be it but at least we can let them know that aren't doing it with our blessing.

I remember when it was first reported that RBS were concerned that if they didn't extend the owner's loans they may face a backlash from Liverpool fans; I just held my head in my hands and thought "how wrong can you be?"

Just got a letter (House of Commons Letterhead !) from Derek Twigg MP for Halton it reads :

Dear Mr Birchall

Liverpool Football Club

Thank you for your recent e-mail concerning the above.

I have already written to John Hourican, Chief Executive Officer at The Royal Bank of Scotland, Global Banking and Markets, on behalf of other constituents who have raised the matter and I enclose a copy of his reply.

He tells me they have a clearly defined role and certain responsibilities in relation to the club, but these do not extend to the day-to-day management of the Club.

He goes on to say they have a common objective; the long-term success of Liverpool Football Club and the Bank's prmary objective is to ensure financial stability so the Club can continue to perform both on and off the football pitch.

He says the owners have publicly declared that they are seeking further investment and that they remain committed to building the new stadium. Negotiations are still underway.

He concludes by saying he realises that these matters are a source of frustration for some supporters ,but it is in their commercial interest to continue to support Liverpool Football Club and ensure its longevity for all concerned.

Derek Twigg

Pretty standard stuff really, he enclosed a copy of the letter which confirms it.

The battle continues !

I got a letter back from my MP in some official government letter (I thought it was going to be a lot worse).

This is what he said:

Further to your recent email regarding your concerns about the financial position of Liverpool Football Club.

I have written to the Royal Bank of Scotland regarding this response and as soon as I recieve their response I will let you know.

Yours sincerely

Vernon Coaker MP.

Got a letter from RBS.

Thank you for your letter on 12 April 2010. In view of your comments I have asked for a full briefing from those involved.

We will aim to get a response out as soon as we can but I also want to make sure that a thorough investigation takes place. If, for any reason, there looks like being a delay I will, of course write to you again to explain why.

If you do have any queries in the meantime, please contact me.
