For clarity:

Asked on BBC Newsnight whether Blair should stand trial on war crimes charges, Corbyn said: “If he has committed a war crime, yes. Everybody who has committed a war crime should be.”

The veteran MP for Islington North was a high-profile opponent of the war and became a leading member of the Stop the War coalition. He said: “It was an illegal war. I am confident about that. Indeed Kofi Annan [UN secretary general at the time of the war] confirmed it was an illegal war and therefore [Tony Blair] has to explain to that. Is he going to be tried for it? I don’t know. Could he be tried for it? Possibly.”

I wouldn't be against Blair being done for War Crimes if there is evidence that he committed such crimes. I sincerely doubt he'd be found guilty though.

His little mate Dubya should be tried before Blair though, and even he is low down on the list of war mongers who should be in The Hague.

Mr Putin should be top of the list.

I wouldn't really blame Jezza for running as an independent, but I hope he doesn't. The slating he'll take from Nu Labour and their press pals will be catastrophic, plus I think it would go against his own principles of progressing the Labour Party and Socialism.

He's in his mid-70's and after all the brickbats he's taken in the 6 years or so, he'd be better off out of it. There are plenty of non-HOC roles he could take forward if he gets bored.

tough one isnt it?

I think a lot depends on his constituents. If He thinks he fully has the support of the people behind him, he has every right to do so.

No it's not, it's an excuse used to stop people like Short airing greviences against the current Labour Party. Its a look over there tactic. Short served in Blairs government for six years. It also detracts from the legislations being proposed by people like Zarha Sultana to give school kids a hot meal.

It's an irrelevance.

More pressing matters, no one really cares anymore. None of Clare Short, Ian Byrme or Zarha Sultana mentioned above have called for Blair to be tried for war crimes  Short didn't even mention Blair.

I think its more in terms of his age etc

If he has the support the people behind him and he thinks he has it in him,he should 100% stand.

He should be roundly condemned by anybody wanting to see the back of rotten Tories. It’ll certainly be interesting to see where people’s loyalties and interests really lie.

People can dislike some Labour stuff whilst still wanting them to win the election mate. It's not 'yawn' to see a party you've voted for all your life do things you don't agree with.

Same as people slagging FSG still want Liverpool to win the league (FF on the GF, I can take the negs like a man)

NV talking out of his neoliberal arse again.

You don’t know what neoliberalism is, do you? What neoliberal beliefs have I ever shared on here? I find it so funny that cultists are so bent out of shape over one careerist politician who made it easier for neoliberals to put neoliberal policies in place that when somebody suggests he shouldn’t make it easier for Tories - which is backed full of neoliberals -  to win, you get called a neoliberal. For wanting the neoliberals to lose. The levels of idiocy, ignorance, and arrogance from the likes of you would be be impressive if it weren’t so boring.

tl;dr get fucked.

"He should stand trial for war crimes if he has committed a war crime" doesn't seem an unreasonable answer, to me, when asked about the then upcoming release of the Chilcot report. I mean what should his response have been? No?

It's Corbyn though. Any answer he gives to any question will be twsisted.

"Jeremy there is a kitten stuck up a tree, we can't reach it should we call the fire brigade?"

"Yes of course"

"He'd rather we had our public services risk their lives for a kitten when people are dying on the streets"

"No, people are dying who need our public services more urgently"

"He's an evil cat murdering bastard"

"He doesn't give a fuck the allotment dwelling anti-semite bobby sands shagging cunt"

Annoy her out there showing Labour +1, Tories -1. Another showing -5 Labour, +5 Tories. Seems like an outlier, last time that happened a few weeks ago it correct itself next week. It’s all about tends. Either way, I think they’d have expected a bit better this week.

Yeah I saw people saying it was maybe an outlier on twitter too.
