Sunderland 2 Liverpool 1

The home side are back in front with an early second-half goal.

Also, Lee Jonas was replaced just before half-time due to injury, with Tommy Pilling taking his place - Assuming that Luca Stephenson has dropped back into the back 4 as a result of this change.

Full-time: Sunderland 2 Liverpool 3

Cannonier's late strike was indeed the winner. Good 3 points for the lads on their travels.

Keeps the very slim hopes of the PLU18 title alive, though City will be 7 points clear if they win today, with 3 games still to play.

Team news for this evening's fixture at Leicester.

Davies; Bradley, Williams, Koumetio, Beck; Morton, Clarkson, Norris; Bearne, Stewart, Elliott.

Subs: Kelly, Quansah, Clayton, Corness, Balagizi.

Good to see Layton Stewart starting again. Also good to see Harvey getting a run out for the 23s - Get some much needed game time into his legs.

For those that have watched Balagizi more this season, how do you think he has done? I know he has had injuries.

Playing so well last season as 'underage' in the Youth Cup, had high hopes this season but doesn't seem to have kicked on. May he be wrong.

Been tricky for him to get a real good run of games this season, especially up in the 23s where I think he needs to be playing. 5 appearances on the bounce for the 23s is the most he's managed this season according to his stats page Transfermarkt - here.

I would say that he's certainly still one of our better performers at the 18s level, and when he's on his game, he's near unplayable at that level.

Just checked his stats and he's played more league games for the 23s than the 18s this season, though he was a regular in the UYL & FA Youth Cup.

In recent weeks, he and Musialowski have been flip/flopping between the 18s & 23s - Suspect this is the balancing act between keeping them confident as they are now above the 18s level and helping them adjust better to the 23s where both have struggled at times - I think it's fair to say that both Balagizi and Musialowski are both confidence players.

Naturally, he's found the physicality up in the 23s that bit trickier, but this season should hopefully give him an idea of what he needs to do to kick on to the next level. He does though need to add goals to his game.

I think next season is a bigger season for him than this season has been.

Fulltime - Leicester 0 Liverpool 4

Don't think we could have asked for much more. Harvey gets a good 45 minutes into his legs, Layton Stewart starts his first PL2 game in around a year and scores, Jack Bearne continues his fine form and to round it off, James Balagizi grabs himself a goal off the bench.
